Howard Baker: Fiction Writer
About the client
Howard Baker recently graduated from the Creative Writing MA course at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. He was the senior member of the course, having retired from teaching and decided to devote his time to writing. He says, ‘Stories dominated my childhood. I loved reading stories, listening to stories on the radio, telling stories and trying to write them.’ He took a degree in English at Cambridge University in 1960 and subsequently worked as a teacher, social worker, journalist, Senior Lecturer in a College of Higher Education, and Teacher of English as a Foreign Language. He had his work broadcast on The Northern Drift and The Best of the Drift, he compiled an anthology of modern literature for schools, (‘New Ground (Methuen, 1968) and had poetry and short stories published and two plays performed by a student Drama Group. His ambition to have a novel published has so far eluded him, although his novel Sinners was shortlisted for the Hookline Novel Award in 2008.
Howard was looking looking for an agent or a publisher and wanted a website to promote his writing.
